We already know quite a bit about “Reacher” season 2. We know from an Instagram post (thanks Alan) that filming commenced on September 3, 2022 and officially wrapped earlier in February. We know that season 2 will adapt the 11th book in the Child series, “Bad Luck and Trouble.” This book sees Reacher avenging the mysterious deaths of members from his former military unit, but the series, developed by Nick Santora, is of course free to improvise, elaborate, and diverge from the material. We also know that Amazon Studios’ Head of Television Vernon Sanders thinks the show is “awesome,” which is … not really an indication of anything, actually.
The full synopsis for Child’s version of “Bad Luck and Trouble” is as follows:
From a helicopter high above the California desert, a man is sent free-falling into the night. On the streets of Portland, Jack Reacher is pulled out of his wandering life and plunged into the heart of a conspiracy that is killing old friends . . . and the people he once trusted with his life.
Helicopter drops, betrayed trust, conspiracy plunges … sounds like something from a Tom Cruise movie. Wait a minute! “Reacher” season 2 premieres on December 15 on Prime Video.
